I completely rebuilt the front end on my 86 F-150 except for the steering gear. I have a 1/2 in drive torque wrench and cannot get the socket and wrench on the upper ball joint nut to torque it. Has anyone used a 3/8 in and will it fit before I go buy one. Thanks for your help. This is an outstanding source for information.

 

Why won't it fit? I just did my ball joints and used a 1/2" torque wrench, with a 3/4" adapter (the old nut was 1-1/8", the new one was 1-5/16")?
