Question tosted clutch?

hey everyone , i have a 90 f 150 5 speed. Im prety shure the clutch is burnt out in it, but my friend told me that its probley the slave cylinder. i thought the slave cylinder had to do with the pressure rigth? anyways, i get my licens jan 19th, and would like to be able to drive my truck at that time. i dont have the money to buy a new clutch at this point. do you think i could find a decent one at the junk yard? also, i have a i6 they have the same tranny as a 5.0 and 5.8 right?

oh yeah, when you put it in gear, you can drive, but your at like 3k and your barley moving... seams like the clutch to me, but please let me know what you think.

thanks everyone.

Could be the clutch disc, could be the pressure plate. If the slave cyl lost a seal and blwe fluid all over the clutch, it could be the slave cyl, but you'll need a new disc as well.

Never, ever, buy a used clutch disc, it's money down a rat hole,

You have the M5OD tranny that was used behind the 300 six and 302 V8. For my 92 Bronc with a 302 I put in a Centerforce I clutch and pressure plate and am very happy with it. A good shop can order it and have it done in a few hours. I would have the slave cylinder changed while the tranny is out as well.

How does the pedal feel? There is a rubber inspection plug on the drivers side of the tranny towards the front. Pry that out and check to see if everything is dry up in there and not soaked in fluid.
