Changing plugs

What's the correct way, in terms of safety - personal & to engine - to remove and inspect spark plugs. Should I just unplug the coil or the negative term on the battery?

well as long as the truck isnt running there should be no power to the coil
all you have to do is take the wire off of the plug and take the plug out, if they have been in there a while they may break so be careful and remember what wires go to what plugs, and antiseise them when you put them back in

Thx

I know it sounded like a stupid question - I'm really learning a lot from this site! I just wasn't sure if there was any chance of a capaciter-like charge from the wires...just wanted to be safe.

Just watch your fingers on the exhaust if you were running the truck before messin with the spark plugs.
