Code Reader Where Does It Go???
I got a 92 f150 4x4 5.0 5 speed and i just got a code reader for x mas and want a know where i plug it in to?? Is it undr the dash or under the hood?? Thansk!!

The OBD1 diagnostic connection is under the hood by the cruse control servo and master cylinder.

You know, it's kinda funny; I don't even remember why I first took that picture, but it was at least 6 or 7 years ago, and it's come in handy in the forums at least a dozen times.

You guys are aware that you can retrieve EEC codes on all EEC IV Fords with nothing but a paperclip, right??

Or a short bit of wire... The details are here, but it can be a real pain in the azz when you get codes up in the 80s and 90s range. A code reader is the way to go.

I prefer my scan tool, but yes, in a pinch, a paperclip will work.
