94 F150 E4OD Downshifts from OD too often

I originally posted here asking about performance mods because my 94 F150 would drop out of OD too easily. The real pain is, it will keep bouncing back and forth from OD to 3rd and it's very irritating.

The truck is new to me and I'm just getting to know it. I got the code off the EEC (HOG0) and did a search for that and the tag number on it F4TF-12A650-AAA and found that a couple other people had the exact same issue. They listed this TSB - (94-21-16) and said it basically says to replace the PCM with a different one but they didn't say which one. The post is over 5 years old. I can't find any information on that TSB and suprisingly, the Ford dealer was no help. Of course they want me to bring the truck in to them . Does anyone have a way to look this info up? I'm trying to determine which EEC they recommend. Would it be possible to get something like twEECer and be able to reprogram it to a more tollerable setting? Thanks -Joe

I can't find any listing for that number, or any TSB's relating to your complaint. Are you getting any DTC's (codes)?

No, I'm not getting any codes. I found the response with that information on another F150 forum. There were 2 guys talking about it back in 2000 I think it was. It just happened to match my problem exactly. Going up a hill, it will constantly bounce from OD to 3rd and back. The truck is new to me and I thought it was just lacking power. It has 116,000 miles but takes off very well from a stop. -JoeB
