bird chirping dash

Lately I have grown weary at listening to the constant chirp/chatter/rattle of the dashboard on my F150. It sounds like a bunch of little, sqeaking canarys under there and it is beginning to drive me insane in all honesty.

Is there a specific place I can look and try to disassemble the thing? I really would appreciate it if anyone has had this issue, to let me know how they dealt with the problem.

Thanks,
Erik

Common problem for the dash mounts to break. Does the whole dash move if you hit a bump or can you push it around?

There is a large amount of styrofoam used in your dash assembly, and if anything breaks, squeaking is unavoidable. Good luck.

There are 2 TSBs for dash noise: one referrs to the R end mounting tab breaking off, and how to install the updated steel tab, but all '95-up got the steel tab from the factory. The 2nd referrs to the plastic dash shell rubbing on the steel A-pillars. Pull your A-pillar trim & notch/break/cut/drill out just enough of the dash shell that it can't touch. Make sure you don't cut so much that the trim won't cover your work.

HUH??? I've taken several '92-96 dashes out & apart, and I don't remember even a SMALL piece of styrofoam in any of them. None in ANY Ford dash I've removed.

Steve is right, I pulled my a-pillar off tonite, there is just a tiny bit of plastic rubbing at the corner, that little edge makes a lot of noise, but, not anymore...

LOL! Heh, that was supposed to be funny. It was a year and a half ago, it seemed funny to me at the time.

My sense of humor isn't always top notch, or so I've been told. lol.

See, that was supposed to be funny, too.

I'm not an administrator here or on any other BBS. I can't make anything a sticky. But my signature link will take you to more info than you can digest in a week of solid reading.
