95 F150 clutch
95 F150 clutch
Well my brothers cutlass craped out him, and I've been in California on bussiness for a while so I have't had a chance to fix it. So he's been borrowing my truck which is a 1995 F150 Strait six 5 gear. Unfortunatly he learned how to drive a stick with it and well now he's a pretty good at it he fried the already tired clutch in the process. In trying to locate a clutch for it I've found both a 10 in and an 11 in clutch listed for the truck. How do I ID which one my truck needs short of dropping the tranny and breaking out the tape measure, or can either be used as only one flywheel is listed for the truck and both seem to be 10 spline.
The auto parts stores are mistaken. The only size used in your application is an 11" clutch. They first sold me a 10" clutch when I replaced mine a few years ago, and it was wrong. I have since obtained the 1995 Ford Spec Manual, and it says the only size used with the 4.9L in 1995 was an 11".
Thanks, I was about to risk it and go for the 11" anyway. Anyone have any expierince with the Hays superbrute clutch kit. It's the same price as a remaned clutch kit from autozone or napa (who,s clutches always seem weak compared to stock)
