Twin Traction Beam

Is ttb really as bad as everyone said? Why don't alot of people like them? Also, are 1996 f150s hard to lift?

The Dana 44 TTB from 80-96 is fine to me. Having three, and beating the wee out of two, I have yet to break them. Normal drivin, and good 4x4in are perfect for the TTB. Get into extreme wheelin and rock crawlin, go to a Dana 60.

Lifts are super easy compared to the ISF on the 97+ fords. How big do you wanna go?

I had a TTB Ranger and a TTB Gen1 explorer as well as a late model Bronco in the 1990s. I havent heard anything bad about them. Its not as venerable as the Dana 60 but I never had any problems with any of them. Its like a dana 44 with armor plating

Easier than the new IFS to lift but not as easy as a full straignt axle. The biggest problems with the TTB was their bump steer.

One reason people don't like them is because when they get old and the springs start to settle it changes the camber and will wear the edges of the tires very quickly. Personally i love the ttb it's virtually unbreakable.

I had a 4" lift and then I went to a 6" SkyJacker lift w/ my ttb setup and I beat the snot out of it....No probs.
I upgraded to the Dana 60 when I went to 40" Boggers
