Twin Traction Beam
The Dana 44 TTB from 80-96 is fine to me. Having three, and beating the wee out of two, I have yet to break them. Normal drivin, and good 4x4in are perfect for the TTB. Get into extreme wheelin and rock crawlin, go to a Dana 60.
Lifts are super easy compared to the ISF on the 97+ fords. How big do you wanna go?

Easier than the new IFS to lift but not as easy as a full straignt axle. The biggest problems with the TTB was their bump steer.
One reason people don't like them is because when they get old and the springs start to settle it changes the camber and will wear the edges of the tires very quickly. Personally i love the ttb it's virtually unbreakable.

i love mine. i got a 93 i put a 4"lift on it and love it, i got a rough country. took about 4 hours to install having access to my buddys shop. havent had any problems with it, so far my alignment has been good since its been lifted about 6 months ago and it has been offroad a few times
