how big of tires u got??

i have a 94 f-150, with the 351, it has had a 5th wheel in it and it sits up a bit for factory. i just bought it 2 months ago. the front springs have the knuckle deals in there( are these factory at all??). it has 15 inch rims with 31x10.50's. how big of a tire can i fit under this thing with no lift?? 11.50's?? 12.50's?? 32?? 33 prob pushin it?? should i take those knuckle type deals out, anyone have any opinions on these vs. the spring spacer leveling kit?? just a couple things on this "new" rig i was wonderin about!! any help on anything at all is appreciated!! thanks in advance. oh yeah, also, there is a small exhaust leaking sound that is mainly there when i give it gas. do these manifolds typically leak?? is there any type of a valve in there?? anyone know how wide the factory rims are, the aluminum ones with the 2 inch or so round holes all around the face?? backspacing on these too if the truck gods in here might have that as well. once again, anything at all is apreciated- thanx again!

mark_waugh@po-2.mount-ayr.k12.ia.us

anything in general to watch out for/prevent on this model?

First, the little "knuckle things" are not factory, and are used to raise the springs a little. They also put extra stress on the springs where they are located. You can buy some two inch coil springs and that will level the front up enough and you could mount 32s and possibly 33s. Best bet is to find a friend and borrow two of his tires and put them on the front of yours and drive it a little to see if they fit. The exhaust leak could be a cracked exhaust manifold on one side or the other. Look in the center of the manifolds for any black soot. You'll be able to see the cracks. I just checked at my local junkyard for a side job I have and could get one for 35 bucks if I pulled it. He said he could get me a new one for 100 bucks. There is also a check valve located directly behind the upper intake, but when it goes bad, the exhaust leak is instantaneous as soon as you start it, not when you give it gas(unless it isn't all the way broken off). Your rims are most likely between six and eight inches wide. Not sure of the backspacing, though. You could check that with a ruler and a straightedge. Remove the wheel, lay the straightedge across the rim and measure down to where the wheel meets the hub. Hope this helps.

tire size

Without any lift modification on your truck, congrats on buying it by the way, you can fit 31x10.50's in the front, and if you want to cowboy it out and have a little lean to it throw some 33x12.50's in the back.

another thought i just thought of was that on my truck if i crank the wheel off all the way the tires rub a little its no big deal and it hasnt ripped up the tires none but they do rub and yall might be able to fit some 32 x 11.5 if your front end isnt sagging any

A little rub won't hurt. My 1985 Mustang GT Convertible rubs and always has with the factory size tires.
