1996 Ford F150 idle problem

My 1996 Ford F150 won't idle. When I start it up it doesn't take off at a fast idle. If you hold you foot on the gas it will run, other it just dies or if it does run, it only idles at about 400rpm. If it gets warm enough, something kicks in and the idle is normal.
I checked the diaphragm on the EGR valve and that seems ok but I didn't take it off to see if it was stuck open.
Where is the Air Idle Control Valve located? This is a 5.0 (302) engine. I would take it off and check it to see if it's gummed up or needs to be replaced if I knew where it was at.
Can anyone help me out?

The iac is bolted to the side of the throttle body on the driver's side. I think in 96, they don't recommend cleaning them, but you can try. Probably just need to replace it.

Well, I found it....I took it out and cleaned it..altho like you said, couldn't tell if it would do much good. It worked for this time but I guess I'll find out today if it's fixxed. It's not that hard to replace so if I have to, I'll get a new one today. It's -2 degrees this morning so I guess I'll find out real quick. Cold weather seems to affect it the most. Thanks for your help!

They're not made to last forever, when mine started going south I replaced it.

Good to hear it still runs fine.
