electric window problems

I just bought a 92 f150, and the driver side electric window doesn't work. When I press the button, the volts on the battery power guage goes down, like it's trying to do something. Does that mean the motor still works but is just stuck? If anyone has any ideas, please let me know...

also, if the motor needs to be replaced, is that a relatively simple thing to do?

On my 92 the window died 2 months after warranty...It was real hard to do, but I took the door panel partially off and managed (just barely) to get my scrawny arm in there and zip-tie the motor in place...Been working fine ever since...

Did your motor come loose from the tracks? What did zip tie on the window motor do?

The motor on my drivers side window just quit and I'm looking to fix it myself...
