i have a 86 ford f150 w/ 302 efi i just finished rebuilding new engine all new sensors new air filter, fuel filter new plugs and wires.the problem im having is on the cold start up wont stay running but when it warms up it runs fine and ideas would sure help me .the only thing i didnt put on new was the dist.
i have an 82 f-150 and i have the same prob. only thing that i could tell u to help is hold it at 2k rpms in park for a couple of mins. and it should stay good.
i was just wanderin now, what rpm does it idle at when ur in drive or reverse? just wanderin cause my idles at 500 and wanted to know if that was normal.

1985 5.0
I have a 1985 F150 5.0 EFI-TFI and rebuilt the motor.
my problem is when starting it will start fine (timing is at specs).
then it will run rough or die. The upper intake vacuum lines are I am sure NOT hooked up correct.
it has the smog pump and all I just need to know where to hook the non emmission vacuum hoses up. I have diagram for the emmisions but not the other ones like the brake master and the dual intake air pipes bypass hoses behind the throttle body.
seems it would be simple but I cant seem to get any combo to work.
I would like to get the hoses hooked up correct before I move foward to the O2 sensor and the map sensoer readings.
any help will be greatfull.
