Unhappy Found one elec problem, still huntin the other

I replaced my steering column about 3wks ago and after I put it back together the left turn indicator light in dash and front left blinker light would not work. After a week of tracing the light green wire with the white stripe I discovered that where it goes into the connector that plugs into the turn signal switch was worked loose and not making contact. Finally got my dash back together

Still have a power drain that kills the battery though. I have checked all fuses, pulled em one at a time while watching a test light and could not find anything. I have been following between the battery and the power distribution center. i.e wire to the starter, distributor etc. thinking maybe an accesory is causing trouble. The red wire that goes from the solenoid on the passenger fender to the starter felt loose when I wiggled it, now the starter doesn't work, had to jump the solenoid this morning to get to work. I can fix the wire easy but was wondering if the loose/burned wire could be related to the power drain. Like something wrong with the starter that would cause it to pull power constantly as the red wire between the fender and the starter solenoid is hot all the time Any more advise would be helpful.

If the cable is warm all the time, there is a short in the windings inside the starter. That's where your drain is. You need to replace the starter and the cable that goes from the solenoid to the starter.

PKRWUD, I have pretty much ruled out a power drain going thru the power distribution box, that leaves the starter and the alternator coming of the solenoid on the fender. I figured I would disconnect the starter friday after work and let it sit overnight to see if the battery is dead sat morning.

Turns out it was the alternator, what pisses me off is I guessed this upfront about 2wks ago. Paid a guy $80 and he said he replaced voltage regulator, bearings etc and that the diodes were okay, put it back on and still have the same problem so I went huntin elsewhere. Turns out the diodes were shot and from what I have learned a good diode only flows current one way, but when they go bad they can drain a battery. Put the new one on, problem gone. Its still worht payin for the alternator twice instead of gettin out and putting the battery cable on/off
