This isn't a question you hear everyday. Last year my grandpa passed away and he always wanted to re-build a pickup he used to have that was wrecked. The pickup was a '66 F-250 4x4.

What I want to do is get a 66 shortbed pickup and convert it to 4x4. I have a 66 longbed right now, and I would be interested in finding a shortbed for that too, anyone have one of these????

What I was thinking was getting a '78 Bronco or F-150 frame and cutting the frame to fit that body style. I am not sure on the specs of this, and was wondering if anyone knows more about this project that I do.

I will be running a 351, a 4spd, an NP 205 transfer case and some beefier axles with 35" tires.

Anyone have any advice on this project. I have about 3500 I can spend on it right now, so I figured I just as well get started.

Money is really not an issue, it will get put together over years if it has to.
