Neutral Safety?

My neutral safety has kicked in. Won't come off no matter what I do. I believe the switch is broken? Anyways the truck won't turn on. I hear a click and that is it (not a starter kind of click)

Now keep in mind that my alternator is going out too. It is whining really bad.

How much does this switch cost, and does it the same switch that allows the reverse lights to come on?

Thank guys.

Pete

Yes it's the same switch. Its on the drivers side of your tranny, right where the shifting cable is. I'm not sure what it costs, but you may want to get a wiring diagram and bybass it (just to see if it starts) before you go out and buy one.

Jump the white/pink wire to the red/light blue wire, and see if it starts. If it does, you need a new switch.
