dual tanks, removing one

I recently purchased a 1990 F-150 with a I6 and a 5 speed transmission. The optional tank (closest to cab) seems to have a few probems, ie. it leaks, the pump is loud, etc, how easy would it be to remove this? (not physically) I mean I would have to bypass some of the lines and what not right?

I guess you could remove it, but I really dont understand why you waould want to go through the trouble of doing so. Just dont use it! Then if you decide some day to fix it you can. Also the next person that buys the truck might want 2 tanks and decide to fix it.

It is easy though. Undo the brackets. Then cover up the lines to protect against dirt getting into it.

I would also remove the fill pipe (I can't remember it's name) that you fill the tank with.

Keep all spare parts so you can go out one day, buy a new tank and a new pump and install it again.
