No Fuel Pumps during Starter Crank

Hi folks,

I have a 1985 Bronco EB with a 1987 TPI EFI Engine. Here are the symptoms. It turns over great but no start.

Fuel pumps run on key turn(on Position) but quit after 1-2 seconds.

Fuel flow is good to Injectors when key is in on position (shoots gas at least a foot)

fUel Pumps quit when turned to Start(cranking) Position.

Fuel Pumps come back on after key is released to On position from Start Position....

If I put Gas in the 2 Air intakes, she will start and run fine. I can drive it forever and it runs great as long as I do not shut her off.

When running No Check Engine Lights.

Can someone please help me?

Thanks
Forrest

Sounds like the ignition switch to me. In fact, it sounds like a textbook description.

BTW, the fuel pump is supposed to shut off after 2 seconds when the key is left in the ON position, so don't let that throw you.

Also, I just wanted to say that you did an excellent job of listing the relevant information. I hate the posts that go something like:

"My truck won't start, what's wrong with it?"
