New Rear Window for '92 F-150

Hi all,

I just bought my first truck ( 1992 F-150 Supercab) and I am loving it. It is a fixer-upper if you know what I mean.

I have bought a new rear sliding window to replace the old factory rear window that is cracked and scratched up pretty bad. I was thinking of doing this replacement myself. If not, I will take it to have it done professionally. Can anyone tell me how to do this myself or should I just leave it to the professionals??

Thansk for your input in advance and I am glad to be a new member!

Its a piece of cake. You need an extra set of hands though.
Take out the interior trim that is around the window, use 2 screw drivers and start at a top corner. Stick the tool inbetween the pinch weld and gasket, pull down and push on the glass at the same time.keep working across the window like that while your buddy is holding the windon fron the outside.

installing is easier. feed clothsline around the gasket where it sits on the truck. lube it up with wd40 or something. Place the window where it belongs. From the inside pull the line and it will pull the gasket in with it.

Completed the install on Saturday and it was a snap!! Thanks for the advice. Actually, the instructions from the manufacturer recommended the rope trick to install. Worked like a charm.
