Question Modified Air Intake question

What's a good place to look for an aftermarket air intake, and approximately what $$$'s am I looking at? Also, is there anything I can do with my factory intake to get increased performance? A buddy of mine told me I should just take the intake tube off of the airbox for better airflow. ( Not the one from the airbox to the throttle body, obviously ) Something about that just didn't seem right, though. So is he onto something or on something?

i took that tube off, then went one step further and cut the whole bottom orf the air box (made a BIG difference). you can do that, or you can just buy a K&N FIPK

or you can make your own K&N FIPK. its not hard if youve got some time and some ingenuity. just buy the filter that comes wth the FIPK for our trucks (about $40) and make the adapters yourself.

I made my own FIPK, works great, looks good to. It helped my fuel mileage more than it did performance.

you can still make your own FIPK with mass air, you just need to get a littlemorecreative because of the MAF.

91F-150302: I have the same set up. I found it by going to the K&N website, found the fipk kit for my truck and got the part number for only the filter, got a distributor location and called em up with the k&n part number. I think I paid $36.
