I want to install a mechanical temp gauge on my'93 302 and must leave the oem electric sender intact. Does anyone have any experience as to where the best place is to install the temp probe?

 

I run both stock and auto meter mech temp gauges.

I have the Auto meter sending unit in one of the coolant ports on the itake manifold closer to the front of my engine (on the drivers side)

And the stock sender at the rear coolant port on the intake manifold (drivers side)
