Cool I sold it...

I sold my truck. The '88 F-150 that belonged to my dad that needed a new clutch, new U-Joint, and new exhaust. It went for $2800 CDN including the camper. I'm driving around in a 1988 Chevy S10 now, with a 2.8L V6 engine and an automatic tranny.

I would have sold the Cheby and fixed the Ford, but to each his own. Good luck.

I got the S10 because it's better on gas than the F150(and I'm partial to GM too) and it's easier to find parts for than say a Mazda or Toyota(I haven't been too impressed with Toyotas since I got the 4Runner) truck. I was looking at getting a Ford Ranger, but couldn't find one in my price range, so I went with the S10(it'll be a cold day in hell before I touch a Dodge. I've had 1 too many bad experiences with Dodge Trucks). The truck is in great shape, better than my dad's F150 and the S10 has an auto tranny.I don't get a long well with a clutch, and the clutch on my dad's F150 was very tempermental, you really had to play with the clutch to get it to work, and the relay switch mounted on the firewall had come loose, so you really had to push the clutch to the floorboard to get the damn thing to start. Before my dad went into the hospital he was going to take it to the shop at his work and was going to do all the work needed on the truck(he figured he could save a few $$$ by doing the work on the truck instead of taking it to the mechanic.) . He was also going to repaint it, the hood was faded quite badly and there were several rust spots on the box.
