powertrain control system, what the....

while looking around for the cause of my cruise not working i found this box marked "power distribution box" inside i found all kinds of fuses and relays. One is missing it is supposed to be for "powertrain control system" wow does that sound important!
So my question is what is it for and why is mine missing?

On a seconday question is there any diagnostics for a cruise system for a 95 F-150?

Without bothering to go open my power distribution panel to take a look, the first question that comes to mind is: do you have a manual tranny?

And the powertrain control system controls what?
Just guessing that there's some additional module that goes in the auto trannied versions. If your truck runs it's not missing anything vital.

Do your brake lights work? Have you wired any accessories into the system yourself?
