calling Beastie seat lift question

I see you have one of those seat lift kits and i was wondering if you can still fold the seat down?

i have 3 JL 10w6's i have one in a custom center console firing down but i have two more in a box that need a home. I was pondering the idea of placing them under the rear seat with a lift kit. maybe even placing all of them under the seat depending on how much space there is. hard to do the math with out the lift kit.

thanks, jake

Yes the seat can still fold down; however, it doesnt lie flat, the back of the seat is 3" off the ground, while the front touches the ground. I believe there may be room for 3 10s, but the problem is air volume, the box would have to take up the entire length of the seat and then I still dont think it would have alot of volume. In the near future, I am going to make a custom fiberglass box and have the subs fire up, because with them firing down, they make the heat shiel under the truck rattle like crazy. I wedged a piece of MDF board between the heat shield and anf floor of the truck, and it quieted it down,, but if you crank it, it will still rattle.

Just wondering if you can get some pics of your box in the console, and how do you like it? also where did you mount the amp.

I don't have a digital camara at the moment, but i will see about getting some pics for you. The worst thing about it is I no longer have cup holders, since I took the OEM console.

The JL 10w6 take .625 cubic foot per speaker for a sealed box and 1 cubic foot for a ported box (if my memory is working correctly). and for the 12w6 it takes 1cubic foot per sub for a sealed box (i just found two new 12w6s at my brothers that he said i could have) and one sub might be bad anyways, so i might be down to putting both subs under the seat and getting rid of my console box or just putting one sub under the seat and using the rest of the underseat space for amp rack

i think i should be able to get enough volume for two tens under the seat with the third one staying in the console. as long as the magnet depth is not to great.

I have allso been thinking about putting one 12 in a new center console just to give a run and see how it sounds and if i like it might go with the other 12 under the rear seat (depending on magnet depth) and using the rest of the under seat for a amps cooled with a 12volt fan hooked to a temp relay.

as for now my amp is hooked to the back of my console box, i painted the box and amp to match the inside of the truck. the speaker fires down. i am a fab man so i built some fancy brackets to keep the box a couple inches from the floor. i have two more amps to add so i will be needing more room to mount them so i have to come up with something else, i could mount them on the sides of the console if i had to and it might be better for heat issues.

i hope i didn't confuse anyone, jake

p.s. the front touches the floor? or is there a inch or so? on mine there is over a inch between the front for seat and the floor.
