Speedometer calibration

My speedometer wont recalibrate. It goes into calibration mode- displays the current calibration number, but then when you try to change it -Nothing. The number stays the same.
I went to 35 in tires about a month ago and I changed it then. Now I went back to 33's and it wont recalibrate. I thought I might be out of calibrations, but it says that I still have 3 left. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
Mark

I recalibrated mine twice and it still says "3" I'm not sure if that number really represents how many calibrations you have left. Another thing, make sure that the wire really is grounded, i grounded mine to the door check bolt and it wouldn't let me recalibrate so i moved it to a different bolt and it worked.

I got it figured out this afternoon. The jumper wire I was using must have a bad spot in it. I grabbed a different jumper out of the toolbox and it worked perfectly.
Thanks for the reply
