Raoul,
There are plenty of people on this board that strive to not irritate people with the same level of sophistication you do.

Mark up another one to take the sound bite from the Media and repeat it verbatim ( and just as wrong ).

Some day you might start checking the facts that the liberal media feeds you.

Relax Steve, don't get the outer edge of your right wing all atwitter! I didn't quote it as fact, just stuff you hear, like Dems and slavery. It's all good! Right?

You might want to check your facts. It was a Republican that stopped slavery and it was southern Democrats who wanted to keep it. They just have found a new way to do it now and keep them in office.

And when was welfare started, in the 1930s, and greatly expanded in the 1960s by who, a southern democrat, LBJ.
While it is not slavery by force, it is a dependency, which brings them under direct control of the government. And welfare reform, brought to you by a Republican congress. Clinton would have vetoed it as he had already vetoed 2 previous welfare reform bills, but knew it would get through anyhow. Of course now we will see how long it takes for the current admin to really try to gut welfare reform.

Even the Washington Post admits we now have a welfare state.

Don't know why you call it spin. Fact is fact.

I must say though, you are the first person I have ever talked to who thought that life would get better while on welfare. Never heard of it happening, except for those who are determined to get off it through education and work.

It appears you can keep both sides of the conversation up with your brand of "fact".

Have at it!

I agree, and unfortunately he does not seem to want to go looking for info. Which is out there for everyone to see.
