OUT OF TOUCH

Most of the "a-list" that support him have grown up being fed by a silver spoon or have forgotten what it was like to have to budget bills. A person who makes millions a year doesn't give a rats @ss how much it costs to buy a car or a house, much less about the price of fuel or the utility bill.

Everybody makes a big deal about the 1%, but I'm in at LEAST the 80% with mine and my fiance's annual income of a whopping 100k a year (she makes $40k a year teaching, tutoring and answering the phone at a car dealer on Saturday from 7 a.m till 6 pm) and I work second shift at the utility company. We've got 2 teenagers that want to go to college, want to have a car on their 16th b-day and we're doing the best we can just to keep up while our house depreciates by the minute and fuel / food prices go up OVER A TROPICAL STORM . Our parents made 50-60% of what we are making and were better off.

I'd like to see some of these pie eyed fools join the rest of us for a week or two.

I'm not saying that to my friends that have buisnesses and have sacrificed time and $$. I have friends that have auto and body shops, are plumbers, electricians, a doctor, a lawyer, 2 electrical engineers that subcontract for our utility company. Some of us grew up together and some of us met along the way, but we're ALL eating a **** sandwich right now and the mustard is getting pretty thin.

Here you go. Who leans right or left. As far as the left leaners, most will not be a surprise as they have been running their mouths for quite a while.

Experience with reality will turn a mind on a dime.

“I have a really interesting political point of view, and it’s not always something I say
too loud at dinner tables here; but you can’t go from a $2,000-a-night suite at La Mirage to
a penitentiary, and really understand it, and come out a liberal.”

Robert Downey, Jr.

Yep, heard that quote from him before. Just an FYI for others, Stephen Baldwin is no relation to the Baldwin brothers. I am sure he is happy about that.

Stephen Baldwin is the brother of Alec, Daniel and Billy Baldwin.

From wiki on Adam

He has been a registered Democrat since 1980, but admits reexamining his views after being given a copy of David Horowitz's book Radical Son. Politically, he considers himself a "small government conservative libertarian", and has contributed blogs to The Huffington Post and Big Hollywood.

I wonder if Stephen wishes he was not a relative of the other 3.

What a large brush you are painting with sir.
Reminds me of Romney's 47% comment.
And you want to talk about OUT OF TOUCH, LMAO !
Should rename this the comedy section - that's what I come for.

I also thoroughly enjoy the way the majority of you here talk in terms of 2 teams.
Constantly, right vs left. "leftist" this, "leftist" that.. bla bla bla.. this is one of the major problems but most of you cannot help yourselves.
It really blows my mind how eager the majority of USAmericans are to join a team.
At what point did people stop paying attention to the actual issues and basically start cheering for their favorite football team?
Kind of sad

Anyway. Excellent thread here guys.
Compile a list of celebrities, musicians, etc that aren't on the same political "team" as yourselves, and boycott everything they do.
Brilliant, brilliant stuff guys.
Can we do the same with religion next? I wouldn't want to be supporting someone's body of work who's imaginary friend doesn't go by the same name as mine!

I'd guess it would be pretty funny to someone who just doesn't get it.

The regime and main stream media thank you for parroting thier talking point, while ignoring what Romney actually said about "the 47%".

The discussions here aren't about teams. They are generally about the preservation of our country that generations of our families worked and sacrificed to build. There is a growing threat, and people here are identifying it. If you are ok with servitude, that's your choice. Some of us aren't going to give up that easily.

I like Clint Eastwood, but i honestly don't care what he thinks politically.

The only people I see worshiping actors/actresses are left wing nut job liberals. Much of their daily discussions involve pop culture chats.

Few questions:

1. What don't I "get" ?

2. What 'mainstream media' talking point am I parroting?

3. What media source do you acquire your information from?

4. If the discussions here aren't about teams, aren't biased in any way/don't have a clear right wing agenda, why is the most used term in this section 'leftist'? (as well as many more extreme versions which I imagine most of the people using these words don't even know the actual meaning).

5. What is the growing threat and why has the "right" waited so long to speak up about it ?
It's not about teams though.. of course not. The same guys now ranting about Obama were too busy watching football and drinking beer when bush was at the reigns, lets be real = it's a team sport this politics crap.

LOL.
The irony !

Life is too funny to be real, it's like a bad movie, a clint eastwood movie.

Politics aside (not that his "speech" even had anything to do with politics, Clint made a total fool of himself.
His movies have always been horribly corny and unwatchable and this latest blunder shows the exact audience and demographic that made him popular in the first place. Poor guy should have just retired a type cast, tough guy movie star. Now look what he did.. his speech had nothing to do with politics, it was a my team VS your team personal attack, there were NO politics involved. Pretty sad.

If you think that people discussing the state of our country is comedic you are missing how serious a situation we've come to be in when our "representatives" put their own desire for power over the interests of the people who've elected them.

"The 47%"

As many as possible. I am not a passve consumer. I don't watch the TV for news, I seek out as many points of view as I can.

The discussions may seem bias because there aren't a lot of people with differing opinions joining the conversation. Bring something more than silly, bright colored pictures and snarky insults, and maybe something can be learned.

The term "leftist" is used because on the political scale, things have been moving left, and a in the recent years, hard to the left. Dispute that if you'd like, but please, enough with the silly meme pictures.

You are new here so I wouldn't expect you to know the history of this site. (Unless you are a regular here under a different screen name.) The discussion about the growing threat has been going on for a decade here. The people who regularly post in this section have been regular contributers to the discussion in that time.

The growing threat is the degradation of our country and society. It certainly started decades before 1/20/09, but has increased speed since. Some of us would like to at least like to slow it, and eventually stop it.

Romney was dead-on with his 47% comment and the left knows it. The democratic party is the party of the "free stuff" crowd that are too lazy to work towards success.

The fight in any presidential election is just like Romney said, over the 5-7 percent that are undecided.
