Now we have cause. Who thinks we're going to war over this?
Just curious as to where this will lead US.

I read this earlier and this paragraph some what baffled me...
"In a related action, the Treasury Department on Tuesday designated Arbabsiar and four alleged Iranian Qods force members, including Shakuri, Qasem Soleimani, Hamed Abdollahi, and Arbabsiar's cousin Abdul Reza Shahlai, as being connected to the alleged assassination plot"
I am trying to understand what the "Treasury Dept" is doing in this matter?? Or why??

If Obama ever had a chance for a second term, he'd be extremely foolish to send us back to war.

My guess is Treasury helped track the $100,000 downpayment that was transferred from Iran to the 'hit man'.

It's not going anywhere. It will all blow over quickly. In 3 days it will be like it never happened.

Mueller's wording sounded carefully planed and he laid them out in Republcan fashion like Reagan and the Bushs'. I just wondered if anyone else got that sensation from them.

I can't see us going to war over a plot to kill a Saudi. But, the act of stopping the attack may help our relations with the Saudis and Saudi relations with Iran may become MORE strained.

Now, if the plot had been to bump off the GOP presidential candidates, the House would probably immediately draft a declaration of war.

If the United States does not defend our borders, this type of event will continue.
I believe we have to retaliate or just roll over and let them call for hits in our country any time they please.

I'm not a ar monger, but some things have to be done

This was just something that came out so Obama could give Holder some cover due to Fast and Furious (finally) getting some much warranted MSM coverage. This guy has been in our custody for a bit. Timing is everything.

Ok, they started gathering information on the case in May. But he was arrested September 29 while traveling.
I'm not disputing the political grandstanding, but the case is more current than June.

Just a guess:

"The Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence is a position within the United States Department of the Treasury responsible for directing the Treasury's efforts to cut the lines of financial support for terrorists, fight financial crime, enforce economic sanctions against rogue nations, and combat the financial support of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. The Under Secretary is appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate."
