America needs less Democracy
America needs less Democracy
..or so say some democrats.
NC gov says elections should be suspended.

Former OMB director says need less democracy

Sounds like both of these need to move someplace like Russia (yeah supposed democracy now but with Putin, I doubt it) or N. Korea.

As if I am insane, I once again take something that is fairly serious statement, and check the bias of the media.
MSNBC home page - Wallstreet Protests, Jobs outlook bad, article on Pakistanis not being the US's friend ( really, now they report this ? ) Girl Scouts pledge to limit palm oil in cookies, 12 panda cubs cuddle for public debut, but nothing on Gov Perdue.
Search - title article : Limbaugh rips Perdue for sarcastic comment
It is not until the 2nd page that there is article on the actual comment.
CNN home page - U.S. condemns pastor's conviction in Iran, trial of Amanda Knox, Facebook piece, M Jackson's daughter having an outcry of Daddy, but nothing on Gov Perdue.
Search - at least here, it is the 1st article that comes up, not an article basing Rush for making a comment on it.
Nice to see the MSM is fair about it. I am trying to locate the transcript to see how it could be taken out of context. Not too many ways to take that statement.

It wasn't sarcastic or joking.
Here is the audio.

There is no confusing that with a joke or sarcasm, unless she was also not serious about doing what is right for NC.
You do have to cringe at the Libertarian candidate's comment on the topic :
Leave it to a university professor to have this thought process.
He did get on his MSM raised soap box and point how how the topic is about her comment, not the real problem - the economy, and that, in itself, validates her opinion.
No that means the general population is wondering how can this person be elected to office.
No big shock when Boeing was looking for a state to build a new plant in, they choose SC, not NC.
The MSM not reporting on it makes it that much easier for it to be swept under the rug, as if it never happened.
You do have to cringe at the Libertarian candidate's comment on the topic :
Michael Munger, who as the Libertarian candidate ran against Perdue in 2008, said it was clear that Perdue was not serious and that even if her proposal was nonsensical, she had a valid point.

Serious or not, doesn't matter, it's just more of the political circus we call our government.
But, the idea is food for thought. If we had term limits, then our elected high priced help would actually be working for us instead of working on their own behalf to be re-elected. They in effect take a fourteen month vacation on us.
EDIT: CBS is doing a series this week focusing on the opinions of CEOs in regards to the economy. This seems germane, particularly ~ 3:00.
