Is Ford going after Obama?
Is Ford going after Obama?
Gotta love the folks at Ford. Here's a commercial that will be airing across the country. It's another "surprise" conference with a new F150 owner. So, whatcha think?

Interesting. Going to be interesting to see how it plays out, if they run it. I like it, but doubt that about 50% of the country will.

I don't see "Ford going after Obama", but I DO see them rightfully drawing attention to the fact that they needed no Government help when the other two auto manufacturers did. I think it's a damned good ad and one that they should run.

Ford's not going after Obama at all. The man sounds like he believes that a free market should decide who loses and who wins. The ad speaks more about the mismanagement of GM and Chrysler (for decades) than it does anything else.
I know several people who have abandoned GM over the bailouts and have purchased Fords for the very first time.

They're bragging that they didnt need a bailout. Not a hit on Obama. Would love for them to run this commercial.
What really grinds my gears is that if/when GM and/or Chrysler fail again, what's going to happen? Are we going to bail them out AGAIN? Americans didnt want their bad products before, so they just took our money anyways. I'm all for supporting Ford because they didnt need to take a bailout. One of the big reasons I started looking at their lineup more closely and ended up buying my truck.

I have seen this commercial in the last couple weeks -- I think it was on either Discovery channel or HGTV. I am 100% positive that I have seen it on the airwaves, as I recall being taken aback myself (in a positive way) at the direct approach Ford used.
marketing and advertising are a funny thing.
sometimes in your effort to attrack people , you might actually push them away.
i realize that to some, it is a big thing that ford made better financial chooses than GM or Dodge.
To some people it is a big thing to Support an American Company (something the guy in the commmercial did not put value in)
To others it can be a sore subject because in this economy several have lost jobs, lost houses and been knocked down to the point of needing help from friends or family or maybe tapping a childs college fund. The add implies that Ford is better because it didnt need help, and maybe it is, but to those that have needed help.
i dont think you will see a national campaign of this add because the marketing at ford will realize it does not have mass appeal.
Ford is #1 in truck sales and has the best engine chooses at this point, that is what you will see in advertising. they may make reference to their good financial chooses, but not campaign built around that.

Yea I agree with many that this is not a hit at Obama and I think they should run it. I love it when people speak the truth and if this is really a true Ford owner and this is how he feels then let it be heard
Apparently the administration wasn't to pleased about the ad
