OK, I'm going to clarify, since some people may have misunderstood my last remark. The questions posed in the two threads are perfectly harmless. It's the replies that can get problematic. That's why we're watching things.

I go here

I like to multi-task, so I can get fed and saved all at once. And if I'm in a hurry, the Communion Drive Thru cuts my wait time in half.

I use to attend here

The pews were very comfortable and high quality, but that's about all they brought to the "table"

Seriously though, I was raised and confirmed Catholic and try to attend mass at least once a month with my kids.

Some of you still seem to not understand the difference in this thread and the one that was closed and questions are being asked. Jack explained it above but I will take it a step further. Asking someone if they went to church and why is a totally different question from asking what church they attended. Why they went is a very personal question and typically leads to the type of deterioraton of a thread that we do not want on this site, so the decision was to close it after an excellent answer was posted by the first responder.

The second thread asked where you went so, actually, the only ones that should have an appropriate answer are those that did go, and want to share that information(any other posts are thread crapping). This is not nearly so personal as WHY.

One of the reasons for separating the Political and Religeous threads was so we could keep a better eye on them and moderate as necessary. We are just not going to put up with as much pot stirring as has gone on in the past. It very much distracts from the purpose of this site. This is a truck site that has a GD section for the enjoyment of the members and when that becomes a distraction from the site purpose, it needs to be nipped.

We go to our local Presbyterian church, we should go more we have a great Pastor that never judges he is always happy to see us when we do go. He get's bonus points from me because he rides a Harley, hunts, plays golf, and he will have a beer or two with you while you talk about everything from church to how you shot on the golf course that week.

Personally, unless it is for a funeral or a wedding, I do not got to church, any "Higher Power" I believe in will be willing to listen to what I have to say whether I'm in my living room or his.
I would be interested in hearing why the OP has posted the question. some people may feel more comfortable answering the question if the know why the OP is asking.

I gave it up for Lent. It was a common quip decades ago.

It even made a MASH episode back in the day, but I'm sure it was older than that.
