I bought this new from Tasca for my 2011 XLT w/ chrome pkg. I thought it would be plug and play like my 01 or 04. It lights up but does not work on this truck. Apparently I do not have the smart fuse panel or such for use with the factory keypad handle. So buyer do your homework, I wasted my $150.
I hear the correct fuse panel has a 5 digit code on the back of it. The smart panel is behind the drivers kick panel. I will try to post a pic with the part #.

Are you sure the truck doesn't just need to be programmed for it.

 

I was also under the impression that the code for these is already existing in the PCM on every truck (or at least most of them) and that it just has to be programmed or activated.

 

I went ot two dealerships and one had a tech that was nice enough to pull the truck in the back and plug into it. We looked all over and there was no way to turn it on. We found the brake controller enable but nothing for the handle. He said it has to have the smart fuse panel/BCM thing. He showed me the spot where they look to retrieve a code but the square was blank.
This would be a good deal for someone who got broken into...
