dry snow vs wet snow

i know this is random but were sopposed to get 10 inches of dry snow this weekend and i want to know if it is just a slick to drive in like will i need 4x4 i know i probly will but im just curious

It will help...definitely. I live in MN and use it whenever it snows and the roads are slick.

yea i used it alot back in december we had 11 inches of wet snow and used 4x4 alot and it helped alot never even got close to being stuck i just didnt know if there is any difference bettween wet snow and dry and if one is slicker than the other

dry snow doesnt really stick to itself so its very hard to get traction, but generally dry snow happens when it is VERY cold.

yea thanks dry snow definatly happens when its cold cause it supposed to be like a high of 20 here when it starts so i guess ill be able to get though it with 4hi

Dry snow has far more traction that wet snow. The difference is huge.

If there is 10" on the roads you will want to be in 4WD but if the roads are plowed I would leave my truck in 2WD unless I needed to climb a steep hill or started sliding around too much. But I have a limited slip differential which helps tremendously.

yea well once it starts to melt and then it frezzes again over night it will be ice anyway

a high of 22 but its gonna drop to 15 or so

supposed to get around 10-15 inches and not above 25 deg till monday. Im looking forward to it.... It hasn't snowed in so long... I am not however looking forward to the 2" or so of ice

There's about 3-4 inches in raleigh, wet snow and freezing rain is falling now. Supposed to keep raining/snowing all day.

I love how people talk about 15, 25, etc. being cold, i was riding snowmobile in -20 the other weekend, and that isn't even that cold...poor Canadians, Alaskans, Santa!!!
