Driving on the beach is fun, but its not that exciting. There isn't really a lot of places to go with full-size trucks. Uwharrie, Brown Mountain OHV, and a place called the farm that a lot of people from NC4x4.com go to a lot are the big ones I know about. I would never take a full-size to any of those places though. Around Durham theres a lot of power line trails but those are all trespassing so I don't recommend that.

Try this for NC offroading. It isn't much but I hope it helps.

Hate to jump in Late, but I'm up for going pretty much any time. As long as work doesn't get in the way, I'll try to make it where ever.

check out the garage section on www.thewolfweb.com (TWW FOR SHORT)... there are a lot of dumbass dorks there but it can be entertaining at times. It was good to pass away time stuck on campus back in the day, ton of people on there.

there is also a site my buddy used to frequent something like nc4x4.com I think

I have been down just about every trail at Uwharrie in my 01 F150 extended cab except the hardest one(Daniel). I fit down it all but some of it was close. I wouldn't try it in a F150 unless you have 33" minimum tires with body lift and rock slider to protect the rocker panel, low tire pressure and anti sway bar disconnected. I have welded up sliders on my truck and they took a real beating. And you can't be afraid to get some dents and scratches. It's hairy (even on some of the easy trails) but definitely doable.

Uwharrie can be done in a F150 you should check out NC4x4.com best off road site. If your willing to travel some you can be at some awesome trails within 3hours. Also NC4x4.com has a complete list of all the legal places to go wheeling
