Post Rear Lockers on F250SD

I am looking for info. on getting lockers for the rear of my truck. I need them for traction towing. My truck does not have Positraction. What is involved, cost.
Thanks,
Steve

Hey Dusky, Unless your truck is used exclusively off-road, you will be much better off with "Limited Slip" than "Lockers"
Lockers will solidly lock the rear wheels together and make your tires wear excessively on the pavement. Limited slip will inprove traction greatly and still alow the outside wheel to rotate faster than the inside on corners. Now, there is a rearend that gives the best of both worlds called the Eaton Gov-Lock, This rear-end uses a clutchpack (like limited slip) but the clutches don't transfer torque to the slipping wheel like L/S, they instead trigger locking wedges to lock the rear axles together if the rear wheels rpm differ by 100 rpm. They also will not allow locking to occur if you are moving faster than 20 mph, (safe cornering on pavement) They don't like greatly oversized tires however and engine HP should be kept below 300HP.

BTW, When you say "Posi-traction" you are referring to GM's limited slip, But then again, The Eaton Gov-Lock is the rearend found in Z71's. They do work well though and I'm sure your truck could be set up.

I am also thinking of putting a L/S in my truck, I was more likly thinking of putting an Auborn L/S in my f250's rear. Has anybody heard any info about Auborn and there products?
