I've only got the stock limited slip in mine but I've heard good things about Detroit lockers.

What axle, what kind of driving, what kind of offroading, how big of a tire? You need to be more specific when asking a question like that. You may be better off just going to 4wheelparts at this point. Figure a good full carrier locker to run you $500+, and lunchbox locker will be $250+ or somewhere in that ballpark.

Oh, and a locker on a 2wd will make you get stuck easier. They have the reverse effect when only in 1 axle vs two. Its a goofy thing.

Its in your door sticker, it says axle code. Then search axle code on here.

Powerstroke, care to elaborate? I've heard the exact opposite.

No offense, but you guys are all too new to the site to realize what Powerstrokes comments usually are "sarcastic, smart **** replies". He brings a lot of wisdom to the site, but a bunch of smart a$$ replies as well. What he is saying is that at the end of the day, you will still have a 2-Wheel drive truck which is not the best scenario for off road use. Having a locker will help you, but it might also give you the false assumption that you have a newly created off road machine, which it is not. My advise is to go with a good limited Slip if you don't already have one. I myself have a 2wd F150 with a good LS. I don't usually off road it, but I do take it camping a few times a year and will pretend it's a 4wd from time to time.

Bryan you I bellive your truck is a 31 spline axle in a ford 8.8 read end probably geared to 3.73 maybe 3.55 if it came with oem 20's factory limited slip the fronts are D44 based carriers they're some kinda D44 hybrid deal I think don't quote me on that lol.

I'd leave the front as an open diff these independent suspensions can't take a locker up front they're just to fragile.

I think I just might get a locker. today when I was doing some flex, I had one wheel spinning to get me up, the other seemed not to do anything. locking both would have got me up real quick.
