Baja
my school and about 10 others are testing this weekend in our baja cars (glorified go kart my dad calls it) but anyways its been a blast. having a "social" tonight out at the place and every one is campting out their. ill take pictures tomorrow to show off some of the cars. driving them through the woods is really fun and a nice little adrenaline rush. Auburn has 4 cars out their this weekend. probly about 30 cars total from all the teams.

Those look like a lot of fun!
Do you guys build those from the ground up or get a used go cart and modify them?
What class do you have to even take to do somthing like that?? I never got to do anything that fun in school

we build from the ground up. the team captain and older members do the designing since freshman dont know the programs quite yet. but so far i have learned how to bend pipe, cut, grind, working on my welding.

were forced to use a 10hp briggs and stratton. the weekend we did testing we screwed up 4 motors. but briggs is right down the road (about 5 minutes) from campus so we usually can get a few parts from them to repair them. every team has to use these 10hp motors unlike formula where you just have a cc limit.

Those Baja's look sick, so much better than my school's. Our baja team sucks so I joined the Formula team instead.

their pretty quick. it all depends on the gearing, weight of car/drive, and size of tires.
this year we have switched up our drivetrain a little differently. but we only have forward. one or two teams use clutches and gears but they seem to have alot of trouble out of them. i was gonna join formula but they're meetings conflict with a class, and the baja team is known for having more fun lol
