Lets say you wheeling through a mud field, and its kind of in the shape of a circle, is it okay if your wheels are like 1/2 crank, in 4hi, practically flooring it becuase youre about to get stuck?

^^ sounds like you would be fine. As long as the front wheels are slipping it "shouldn't" be a problem. Sh*t does happen tho... you may end up grabbing and shooting yourself forward while those tires are spinning at high RPM... or they may grab and bind and break something. If your off-roading your bound to break something. Comes with all the fun you get to have. And just think of it as "testing you weak links"

Lets see here, mud, tree and 4l. I bet you had big oversise tires say 35's a lift kit? Well the 1st thing get out of 4l go to 4h and second gear. You tires are not going to spin as much that makes better traction. If you are on mountain roads big wide tires are no good. After 50 years of driving 4x4's I have learned a thing or two. I have a set of 4 tires on 5.5in rimes with co-op gripsters. With this narow rim it turns the griping lugs outword. I pass up or go around all the stuck 4x4's with no problem. I also go past them when they are chained-up. Lift kits are the worst thing there is on a muddy mountain road with a little slop on them. There are places around here where they roal over and down in to the ditch. Been through the school of hard knocks and I have learnd a lot.
