Where's your trail?

I'm adding every ORV park & trail I know of to Google Earth, and I'm going to upload them all so you can find any park (and how to get there) in an instant.

If you don't already have Google Earth, get it - it's free & amazing.

Find your trails & then post the name, location (lat/long/altitude), the URL if it's an official site, and whether it's public, commercial, government, or private. If it's closed, you can still post it so others will know where NOT to go.

J.W. Corbett WMA. Sorry, I can't find Lat/Long, but you may be able to find them on that site.

Are you wanting G.P.S. cordinates? and are you wanting just the trails, or the main tarting point for all of the trails?

A buddy of mine one time was saying that his brother in-law had been on every open trail & trackef them every 1/8th mile or major obitcle/turn in the Coal Creek O.H.V. area ( Wind Rock mountain outside of Knox, TN) I'm having a hard time believing that, but every rumor starts with ome truth, so we'll

I hope you get some people to cooperate with you on this! I think thi will be nice.

Green Ridge State Park, Maryland. It's a great place to camp, has a nice off road trail that is best for quads but you can take your truck on the trail as long as you don't mind the scratches you WILL get. The trail gets narrow in certain places. Very scenic views up there, good times.

Is this what you're talking about? I'm sure the "unimproved roads" are open to trucks, but what about the "trails"? On some of the other maps from that site, the legend says "trails (no motor vehicles)", but that map lacks that notation, so it's not clear. Have you driven any of the "trails"?

What I'm actually looking for is this info:
1) NAME - the most common public name of the property, or the official government name, or the name of the business that operates the property & collects money on-site. If there is signage on public roads directing visitors to the property, provide the name from the signs.
2) LOCATION - lattitude/longitude of the on-site office, or the geometric center of the trail area. Also, the altitude from which Google Earth shows the bulk of the trail system, and the center point for that view. This info can be found in the VIEW tab of Google Earth if you set a placemark for the trail area. Make sure HEADING & TILT are both 0.0000 .
3) URL - the official website for that specific group of trails. Don't post an URL for 20 ORV areas like the CA BLM website has; post the page specific to one trail area with the most info about it. If it links to other pages with trail maps, contact info, fees, pics, etc., that's even better.
4) USE - is this public land? Is it a business operating an ORV park? Is it open land owned by a corporation? Is it a national/state/local park that allows ORV recreation? Military reservation? Is it private property? Even if it's closed, posted, or illegal, it's still worth listing here because some people might not know that they're riding illegally, and telling them about it will help stop them, so our sport doesn't get any more bad press. So post those areas, too - just be sure to tell us that it's closed.
5) NEARBY - anything interesting in the area that might not be obvious to visitors? Is there only one gas station or store within 100 miles? Do we need to bring our own water & toilet paper? Any info specific to this area NOT given by #3 goes here.

So for jiggle's trail, it would be:
1) J.W. Corbett WMA
2) 26 56'36.71"N 80 21'29.78"W 15353m
3) http://myfwc.com/recreation/jw_corbe...t-MAP-0708.pdf
4) state wildlife area with truck trails
5) none given

ChrisT's:
1) Green Ridge State Park
2) 39 36'25.87"N 78 28'19.67"W 10210m
3) http://www.dnr.state.md.us/publiclands/orv.html
4) state park with 1 loop trail open to trucks
5) none given

***EDITED LINK*** It lists every ORV park in MD, but there's not a page specific to Green Ridge.

BTW
My mother lives in Oak Ridge, and I had no idea about Coal Creek until I started working on this list.

A better description of my #5) This is a State Park campsite ($10 per night, per site). There are no bath houses or ammenities, you are literally out in the middle of the woods so you will have to bring your own water, TP, bathroom, etc. My original post's coordinates are for the main head quarters of the park where you will have to get permits for the trail and pay for a camp site if you wish to camp. After that, you start your way back in the woods to your camp site or the off-road trail.

I'm trying to keep the info to a minimum - just enough that someone can find the trail on Google Earth and a website with all the other info. The MD trail page (that I edited in) describes the park, and the linked map indicates where the restrooms are (& aren't) and just about everything else someone visiting might need to know. #5 is really for info that someone CAN'T find online, or that wouldn't be obvious when searching for this ORV site. Like an alternate attraction, in case the trail is closed. Or something worth seeing on the way home.

The camping info is extra - I'm primarily after the locations of truck trails. The park site tells about camping.

I've been all over that park and I've never seen anything that says no motor vehicles. There is a boardwalk somewhere (although I've never seen it) and that may be what you're referring to. There are no 4 wheelers or ATVs allowed and it is a state park so no alcohol. Other than that it's a free-for-all. There's people who go out there with buggies and just make their own trails. We usually just go down any trail we come across (and there are many that are not on that map) until we can't go any further.

You should go ahead and add the Ocala National Forest. I've never been there, but I know a lot of people head there to get the trucks dirty. It's about 30 miles north of Orlando.
