umm...

Sounds to me like an altercation from " I was trying to teach a smartass ***** how to keep his mouth shut ". What were you gonna do to him, beat him down, 'pop a cap', sternly talk to him, buy him a beer?

Then you pass him doing a 100 in a 55 and the cop sucks?

Unhappy la cops suck?

Well, two wrongs don't make a right. I will admit that there are really only three give or take reasons to shut someone's mouth in my opinion... Being vulgar to my wife, my child, or my religion. That said, it was dangerous to you and all the other people around you for you to "chase someone down" at speeds nearly double the legal limit. A poor excuse it would make to an injured or killed innocent person or their family that someone had been a wiseass and you were trying to teach them a lesson. A poor role model for your kids too. Enough said, I'm done.

I gave your story a listen unlike the rest of these guys, sounds like they should have let you go. I hope that same punk runs into their cruiser. Cops aren't always the most reasonable folks out there, nor the sharpest. Good luck with that ticket, ****ing punks.

I think you may have "listened" to a different story from the rest of the guys. How exactly are the cops "aren't always the most reasonable folks out there, nor the sharpest" in this situation? A Police Officer gets PASSED at 100mph in a 55 and he's suppose to let the guy go because he wanted to "teach a smartass ***** how to keep his mouth shut". He's lucky he didn't get arrested on top of it.

I notice you rag on officers a lot. You know they are just doing their jobs, while upholding the laws directed from the people you may or may not have voted for.
It's not a glamorus job by any means, it takes a dedicated and skilled person to successfully do that job. Rant over..

Just wait until after the court date. You'll be talking about how LA court judges suck too.

Wow, the cops suck because he can't obey the law? Teaching the other guy a lesson probably wasn't his deal either. I must be getting old, when I was young and got stopped, I always looked in the rearview and blamed the guy staring back at me. Sad statement on the condition of this country when it is never the fault of responsibility of the guy that broke the law - blame everybody but the guy in the mirror.

Guess he's lucky, around here there would have been speeding, reckless driving, disturbing the peace, and most cops could have found a few other traffic things to pile on. And probably, if the story about teaching the other guy a lesson was told, assault with a deadly weapon (assault being the threat, deadly weapon the truck), and again a few more little goodies. At least the first night in jail and a massive bail.

Thank before being stupid and blame the guy at fault (and no, that's not even the guy with the big mouth).

Did not know you knew who my parents were and what they did, when I don't even know who the hell you are. Back off Matlock, that's a little creepy.

Now I may have been tainted a few times from bad experiences with the police, rediculous stories, but I have had some runins with very nice police officers and have stemmed great stories from those as well. Everywhere is different and I realize I have a bad taste in my mouth. But I know these officers could have cited you for an air freshener in the window and some would spout how right they were and how you could have ran into their kid on his motorcycle because the freshener obstructed your view for that prcise, opportunistic second...what a way to live. Some fan base they got going too, if you had a fanbase like this you'd be on a powertrip as well knowing every decision you make is going to be rigorously defended by them, so its not them who I blame. Its not so much that I agree with this guy, it's just that I don't agree with some on here who defend these cops before knowing the details.

You said it yourself, I have family in the local police station and the things I see and hear give me quite a belly laugh when I come on here to see people so valiantly defending them.

When possible, assert your constitutional rights against any tyrannical police behaviour, they are not the end all be all. Take a look here, if you make a mistake or wrong decision you're bound to find yourself at the hands of someone pictured in this video. Many runins happen to consist of officers similar in attitude to the video shown, probably where the animosity stems from.

I realize only now this was not a good thread to express my views on how police may handle situations, nor should I have sided. They seemed more in the right than wrong here.
