The link didn't work for me. I kinda like the exhaust out of the hood too. Reminds me of the trucks at the sled pull. I would prefer to have a diesel with stacks coming out of the bed right behind the cab.

Its not a looks thing (though in this case it could possibly be), its a functionality thing. The faster you can get the exhaust outside of the truck the better, and the shorter the distance the better. The more back pressure you have the longer the spoolup, and the higher the EGTs. Ever notice that the pro truck pullers run a single stack out the hood? Its not a looks thing. Not street legal in any state however.

You know I am thinking their neighbors must really love them. I don't understand why that guy would put a cummins in an avalanche, unless it was just something he thought had never been done before. Anyone have any input on vehicle height and how it affects a pull off like this?

In my opinion whoever has the higher attach point is usually going to win if weight is not a factor (meaning they have similar weight). Professional (if you can call them that) pulloffs take this matter pretty serious, I've seen competitors dropped for having too high of an attach point. The guy with the lower attach point is going to lose weight in the back which equals to less traction when the strap is tight. This theory doesn't apply to contenders with AT's and the opponent with MT's.

There is quite a bit more to these pull offs then meets the eye. For example, bigger tires do not mean more traction automatically on the street. You have to take into account the vehicles total weight and the size of the contact patch on the ground (the total surface area of all tires that apply power to the ground). From there you can determine how many pounds you are putting on each square inch of surface. You also have to account for the type of rubber you have on the ground and the temperature and blah blah blah.

The end result is that "Generally" if the attach points are at the same height and the rubber is pretty similar, the vehicle with the greater pounds per square inch of surface area on the ground will have a traction advantage.

I was just wondering cuz the guy in the Chevy was freaking out about the ford being lower to the ground and I thought that was actually a good thing for the guy in the Chevy

Even funnier are all the fanboys that posted beneath it, making excuses why the chevy got pulled. It was lifted, it had offroad tires, it stalled, whatever. Considering the ford didn't even have a LS axle and it still pulled....

Look at some of the other videos. The best one is the "silverado vs f150" one. A 2wd one-leg f150 against a 4wd locked silverado. As if that wasn't rigged enough, the guy in the silverado holds the brakes and burns out. And some of the fanboys are just unbelievable.
I thought all fX4's came with ls axles

Really? Looks like only one wheel spun in the video...

Anyway, the "pull" was still rigged.
