Off Roading in the Bay Area

Anyone know of any close spots to the San Fran bay area? Any beaches near that allow vehicle access? Thanks...

Closest is Pismo Beach, thats the only driveable beach left and it's unbelievable...unless you consider Glamis a beach with no water. There are offroad parks like, La Grange OHV, Frank Raines OHV, Carnegie (not worth it for trucks, just ATV's/dirtbikes), etc but these are parks, not beaches...I have videos of my truck in all of them. Let me know if you're interested in going and maybe we'll hook up for a trip so long as you can keep up j/k. Frank Raines is probably the closest...but there is Prairie city (have not been) in Rancho Cordova.

I'm in Manteca so not too far from you.

Ditto... I've been down to Pismo from San Fran. IIRC, it was about a 4 hour drive, but worth every minute!! The park is amazing!! I was there on a Tuesday, so it was kind of slow, but SO worth the trip!! What a blast!!

hollister hills would be the closest place to go offroading for you. I live in the bay area and thats usually my spot of choice. Other than that you have to drive quite a way to get to any of the other ohv parks.

I'm surprised I didn't say that, hollister hills is a great place to offroad. The TTC takes place there, huge offroad event. If you go there a few weeks after the pits are still mean.

Now can you do me a favor. What kind of romantic fun is there to be had in San Francisco. I like to think I am a great guy and I figure out some really fun and neat things to do with the lady friends, but maybe you being a native can help me out. Neither are 21 yet so that rules out most clubs, but I'm talking about maybe a great place to see fireworks ...maybe parking the truck at the base of the airport and watch planes take off overhead, neat attractions to see (e.g. ripleys believe it or not...but I've already been), etc.

Thanks for all the info on the OHV parks.

Josiah-

I am really new to SF, I am from Chico originally and have been here a few times before but I really so not know much to do yet. My girlfriend And I have been to the beach and parks a few times. Fleet week was awesome. Other than a bunch of great places to eat, I have no suggestions... yet! Thanks for the info and I'll let you know when I'm headed to one of the OHV's.
