Yea, speed is too competitive now I guess and no I wouldn't bother with it either. But if you ever do, let us know, as I am interested in you experience.

wouldnt the greater hp on the new winch motors also mean greater amp draw? I mean these babies pull a lot as it is.

I don't know. I supose they might. Would have to see some old specs to compair. They seem to be doing a lot with gearing as well and I think they measure these things at the drum so...They may have overcome the amp draw problems that way?
