Offroad Trips

Guys, the weather is getting *****tier by the minute. For some this means double time on cleaning their truck, for others it means double time for getting it dirty.
So with all the oncoming snow and rain we need to get a good thread of recent offroad trips with your trucks. Post what you have, where, when, how, all the details and most of all good pics.

ok i'll start, about 2 weekends ago i went to a construction site (i know artificial offroading but whatever) with 3 of my friends, one drove a 97 isuzu rodeo, a 1987 ford bronco and i had my 1997 f150. it was so much fun and i didn't ever feel like i was going to get stuck and we were in a good foot of mushie mud. the rodeo did really good too. the bronco struggled

heres some of my favorite pics

Does anybody take the 04 offroad?

im only 17 so im probably dumb enough to take it farther than it should go brand new , but in my right mind i would only take it in the mud, kinda like what i'm only doing with my '97

Finally got out again. This time out at Lake Gaston, on the boarder of Virginia and North Carolina. All through that area there are access/fire trails and power line trails (open to the public believe it or not)
It was a muddy weekend though so I didnt take the power line trail. The rutts were pretty deep and wheelin alone is a good time...until you get stuck alone (note to self, buy winch).
Anyways I dont have any action shots though, just a dirty 04 with some nice clay/mud shooting down the sides.
Cant wait to get out there again in January. Good times.

Eddy, shoot me an email when you go in January and I'll see if I can get off work. That way we can yank each other out! How far away was this place?

My parents just bought a lake house down there to retire to in a couple of years. I was down there to clear the property and do some work on the house with my father. The drive was 190 miles south of DC. The major difference down there is every power line trail is open. The trail I took was nothing much, but the powerline trails looked pretty good. I will explore it once the ground is hard since I dont have to worry about getting stuck out there by my lonesome. Once I map some of these out I will be doing some good spring time trail riding and I will be sure to give you a buzz. Dont forget we have George Washington National Forest only 2 hours south of us with tons of legal trails to ride. With an idea of where to go and some trail maps we could easily all meet up in the AM and be back before dark. Good times.

Where are the trails you went to in smithfield va? I live in norfolk and there are barely any 4x4 trucks, much less anywhere to do some good rootin'. Please let me know if anyone is making trips this way, or knows of anywhere good around this area...

I live in the mountains of Central Pennsylvania, we go off roading at the strip mines, its posted No Trasspassing, but we go thru anyhow, sometimes they have a rent a cop there that shoots at us, but he's a bad aim, some guys knock over the porta potties i don't do that, I just bring a cooler filled with beer, and a empty cooler and a chainsaw, we have these jumps where u do ur best to get all 4 wheels of ur truck off the ground, and see who goes the highest, one guy had a new full size Dodge that he jumped and it bowed his frame, pushed his bed into the cab, ha ha ha , he was upset. Then after we get drunk we have a tug of war contest by hooking a chain to the rear of each truck and see who pulls who, all that ever happens is a draw where our tires chew thru the ground and sink us. Its fun , no women come along and nag nag nag all the time.

Eddy, you should have looked me up. I am only 45 minutes to an hour from Lake Gaston. Let me know the next time you head down here. BTW, there is some great fishing at Lake Gaston.

Great to hear you had a good time

Yeah I am looking forward to some good fishing too. I hear the bass are great in that lake. I will be going down to the house on a bi-weekly basis the second the place is fully "liveable"
Looking forward to the trails too.
