Zoltan, was that picture taken at Oregon Inlet in the outer banks in N.C.? If so when is the next time you will be out that way? Some freinds and I are out there almost every other weekend. About 15 to 20 trucks. We are only an hour away so it is a good day trip to blow off some steam. Thanks for the info on Smithfeild, I have a bunch of freinds that live out there so I'll have to get with them and check it out.....

Adam, that picture was actually taken at Carolina Beach, down near Wilmington NC. You can drive out there too. I have been out to the outer banks a few times but I ususally only go out there once a year. I will be going again in september for a week. You live a lot closer than I do. It's about a 3-1/2 hour drive for me. Hence the once or twice a year visits. When I go out there I usually go to the north end, where 17 ends and the beach begins. I have been out of Oregon Inlet before, but that small stretch of sand leading from the road to the water is a death trap, DEEP *****!

Oregon Inlet is pretty deep, which makes it a lot of fun. Deffinately gotta air down, I didnt know you were that far away, if you are ever down there, look for a 2003 F 350 quad cab on 54"s and we will be there, we'll find some dunes to kill.

Guys, I live in Newport News, VA, so when you decide to go to Smithfield let me know and I sure would love an invite. I agree with Adam, this place sucks for trails.

I've been in the sand with mine, and I can tell you if you aren't carefull it will swallow you whole. I've also been 4x4ing up on a glacier... that was some interesting *****.

On a related note, You guys ever had any maintenance problems from wheeling in the sand?

Maintenance issues from the sand? Yes, you deffinately need to pay more attention to your tie rods. I have had two go bad and they were both full of sand. I wouldassume the boot was bad before the sand and then when the sand got in there just ate it alive. You should have less problems cause you have a solid axle in the front, us little guys have IFS and the cv axle boots can easily get sand inside if it is torn or you bury the truck. The way I look at it is , who gives a damn, it is so freakin' worth it. I will trade a little work for that amount of fun anyday. What is a truck for? Monster, your tags dont say monster by any chance do they?
There is a guy that is always over near where I live with a f250 4 doors, on 20's wrapped in 38's. Just curious.
