Stupid Hemi

I'm a little buzzed and feel like bragging so here I am.

I just got back from a little evening 4x4 trip and have plenty of good stories to tell. The best of which is how I towed a 2004 Dodge Ram out of a sticky situation. He wan't in the ravine just yet but he was on his way as he slowly slid further and further down the mountain hill and further off the trail. His 'spotters' and I use the term loosely , were giving him very bad advice which just made things worse. Finally he surrendered to my advice and we got him out. It was a pretty steep incline but I pulled him right up. Best of all is that the guy had this big HEMI sticker on his front Fender. A lot of good that did him. I'll take my 1995 F150 4.9L I6 any day.

great story...but i think you've posted in the wrong area...cause no one ever posts in the off road forum , anyways...good to hear you've got a conscience and didn't let the urge to watch a dodge self destruct overwhelm you

My idea of offroading is driving on the shoulder.

One time I got up a lotta nerve and drove down a gravel road.

People brag about having a Hemi, if you ask me the Hemi design is ancient. Hemis have been around since the 1960's or so. With computer CAD, etc seems the newer designs like the triton kick more ***. Why would I want a 30 year old engine design?

Hemi's were arround in the late, 1950's and the Hemi per say was an asome engine in the late 60's, even ford made one, not sure if was the 429 cj, or 428.

I'm not a fun of the triton engine(s) Loved the 302, 351c and 400m, they were simple and basic, if looked after will run for ever, Even the chev small block remains basicly unchanged, Dodge whent old school with some new upgrade's.

The Hemi is only a marketing ploy, if Ford had not decided to go with a 3v 5.4 and actuly design a engine with two intake and two exx. Valve's They would have had a killer engine, The chevy, old school 5.3 (327) l puts out ten less hp and In my opion is the better engine, tried and true.

And I do drive a ford, 2002 f-150 5.4 sc 4wd.....

ford does make a 32valve triton 5.4 its in the navigators and makes over 300 horses.... check it out they are pretty easy to find. Also the I agree the Hemi is a marketing ploy more than anything Hemi refers to the combustion chambers being hemispherical and all of the articles I have read about the new hemi say they are only "slightly" hemispherical in design... a far cry away from the old one.

Not to mention a LOT of cubic inches and serious power were lost between the old school Dodge Hemi and the new semi-hemi.

Just so you guys know, it's not a "HEMI" it's a "HEPI" pronounced "HEPA". You know cause it's built in Mexico and is taking jobs away from people I know here in Michigan, not only Michigan, but the USA!!!!! All I can say is cheap, cheap, cheap.
