Think you could post a photo for your mount? I'd be interested in seeing how you used a mount rather than a bumper.

Question is.........are those gay *** imitation bead locks or honest to goodness real ones? If they're real I then assume that Canada's laws are different than here. Here there is no such thing as a DOT approved beadlock. Can't run real beadlocks on the street here legally and some cops really do check for it. Only thing that can hit the street is imitations. IMO fake ones are a waste of money since they don't really do anything for you other than cost more money.

hehehe.... I am not gayasss thus, ergo... they are real. The laws are the same here, but the cops dont give two *****s. All the "sim-lock" wheels you can still see the outer stock bead lip (they're for wheel balance weights) and only have 16 bolts (no need to have 30 like mine to seal and hold the tire). My bead-locks are not street legal by anymeans, but they are Dot approved............

They were stock 16x7 ford steel wheels (with dot stamp) that I got custom rings made for, then I proceeded to machine and weld them on. making the wheel 9" wide and "dot" approved. I dont know if a cop would fall for that though, as you can see the rings clamping the bead on pretty easy. It dosnt really matter though as I have street tires and rims I run MOSTLY on the street. I also plan to have some 13/36/16 swampers on those beadlocks for spring.

oh, I like your ranger Powerstroke what are the specs?

My Ranger is almost completely bone stock. I'm running 34/9.5/15 TSLs (too narrow for my taste but for $250 for the set brand new I couldn't pass it up) on stock chrome steels. Actually to run these tires I need a set of beadlocks. I've had some problems with crap getting wedged in the bead and deflating my tires. I need to bread down all 4 and clean them cause of this. Its got a 2.3L thats in serious need of help, mostly from a half assed engine rebuild by the previous owner. Crappy 5spd mitsu FM145 tranny, BW1350 tcase. I'm not running any lift on the truck at all. I cut the fenders till the tires didn't hit. They do rub on the radius arms, but its bearable. I'm getting screwed with the rear of the truck since my tires hit the inner fenders of the bed limiting my flex. The axles still have the stock 3.45 gears in them so power is lacking. I only did 3 things to it really after I bought it. I welded the caps on the front axle shafts. This makes the joints unserviceable, but it adds ALOT of strength. Even after the needle bearings fall out you can still run the shafts. My friend did his like mine and he ran 4 HARD wheeling trips with alot of rock crawling with no needle bearings in the joint of his D28 and it just finally broke at the end of the last trip. The 2nd thing I did was cut the fenders, and the last and most important thing was welding my diffs up. After wheeling with welded diffs and then going back to my F150 with 35s and open diff there is just no comparison. It does pretty good for only having about $1000 invested in the truck which includes the purchase price, the cost it took me to drive to OK to get it, and all repairs and tires. Next on the list is the SAS.

Talking

hehe.. it sounds like the Mj jeep I built. kinda just a cheep thing to bash... meh it is fun. I ran the 34/9.50's on it too. I had them on a 7" wide rim, and had problems with the same thing(crap around the beads), then I put them on some 6" wide rims and it went away. It is funny when a 7" wide wheel is too wide.

If I had a set of non-chrome stock wheels I'd build my own bead locks. I looked all over for a set of 6" wheels, but the catch was I didn't want to pay jack for them. Believe it or not I actually had problems finding any all that weren't brand new. The 34/9.5 are gonna look goofy as hell if I get my hands on the FW D44 and 9" There won't be a single bit of tire inside the fender.

I got my 15x6 rims with 5on4.5" bolt pattern off some car in the junk yard, I think it was a mid 80's crysler piece. anyways, I got em for 5$ can. each. Try a junk yard, just take a tape measure and a lug wrench. In my Mj I put a FW 31 spl. ford 8.8 in and welded it. it was only ~2" wider on each side, but the pizza cutting swampers looked funny on it. My bud has it now and plans on 35x14.5" boggers, and maybe a dana 44? but good luck with yours and sorry urban cowboy for drifting off course.
