Got a quick question, was looking around checking for some 4.10's and not having too much luck. I found a lot for sale, but it was stated to fit for the 9" rearend, not the 9.75". My question is this, is the 9 and the 9.75 the same? Or completely different monsters?

 

9" is a removeable type center section ( hog head, or chunk as some people describe it); the complete rear axle drive unit or assembly can be removed from the axle housing, after removing axle shafts & unhooking the driveshaft.


9.75" is an integral type unit. Everything is incorporated into the axle housing that goes under the vehicle.

 

well, in that case, anyone have a clue where i can find some 4.10's or 3.73's for a good price? I'm at a loss for searching right now.
