REAR GEAR
who has changed out thier rear end gears ..to 4:10 etc...is it really hard to do ??expensive??? need some info!

HI!.... ROUSHFAN-1 : I have had 4.10 gears installed in my "99" F-150 5.4 with the 9.75 rearend. The gears I got from PRECISION GEAR for $520.95(CAN). My FORD dealer installed them for me for $411.78(CAN). That is also including a CRUSH COLLAR that was $10.37(CAN). I also bought 4 liters of RELINE synthetic gear oil $59.57(CAN), friction modifier $5.00(CAN), pinnion nut $9.02(CAN) and a tube of high temp silocone $8.95(CAN). As you can see it cost me about $1015.27(CAN). Because I am paying in CANADIAN funds it should be closer to $600-$700(U.S) for you to do the same. I hope this info helps you out!8-)

I had the 4.10 gears installed for $265.00. Unless you know exactly what you are doing, I would let a qualified shop install the gears.
The Hellwig Anti sway bar cost between $110.00 to $135.00 depending on where you buy it. I bought mine from Summit racing for $134.00 delievered.

98 F-150, 2WD, 4.2L auto, 4.10 gears w/ LS, Tow Pkg. BFG AT 265/75/16, K&N air filter, Dynomax muffler, Superchip, Edlelbrock shocks, Hellwig sway bar, 3" body lift.....
