Question speedo error

I have a 97 F150 w/235/85r16 tires and I'm seeing a 10% speedo error. I know these are not orig. size tires, but they are new and they were on the truck when I bought it. Can I fix this myself or does it have to go to the dealer? Is this an expensive fix?

Thats too much especially with the OEM tires. Dealer visit no doubt.

Curley,
You can buy a replacement speedo gear. I have 285/75/16's and went with the wine colored gear,(1 tooth difference), but it made my speedo 5% too fast. I chose to live with it and practice my basic math skills while driving.
