I pretty sure that 4x4's have a 31 tooth spline. Im not sure if there is a change for the 4x2's. If so, someone will be by soon to correct me! Have you verified that the Powertrax locker is available for the 9.75" rear? I have been looking around for one as well and the only thing I couyld find was a Dana Spicer limited slip unit. Ley us know if it is availabe as others would be interested as well.

Thanks...

Steve

According to the site I checked on, there is one for the 9.75" read, but it looks like it's for a 28 tooth. For my application it says it's an 8.8" 31 tooth, but I want to be sure before I order the thing.

Lightbulb PowerTrax LockRight locker

I have a 97 F150 4.6 2WD AT and want to put a LockRight locker in the rearend. Can anyone tell me if I have a 28 or 31 tooth spline without having to crack it open first?
I will open it if I have too.

Power Trax does NOT have a locker for the 9.75" rear end yet. I have been contacting them monthly for the last year. I have been told each time I call that it will be out in 3-4 months. When I called last week they said it would be out in the first half on 2000. For White Stallion it does not matter if they make one for the 9.75" rear end. He has a 4.6l and with that he has an 8.8" rear end. If I remember correctly all trucks have 31 spline axles with the 8.8".

Ya, all the 4x2's, at least 97-99 are 8.8" ring & 31 spline axles. I have my auburn locker sitting at home waiting to be installed.
